Soft Bakes by KC is a small, home-based food business located in Calgary, Alberta. Products are prepared in a private home kitchen. By requesting or placing an order, you acknowledge this and accept the terms below.
Orders & your agreement
When you send us an order request (by message, email, or other channel we provide), you are making an offer to purchase. We will confirm availability, price, and pickup or delivery details. An order is not confirmed until we accept it and any required deposit is received as we specify. If you use our website to send an order, you tick a box to agree to these Terms & Policies before the send buttons work; that counts as your acceptance on the site (your message to us does not need to repeat this).
Deposits & payment
A deposit (typically 50% of the order total, as stated at checkout or in our messages) is required to confirm your order unless we agree otherwise in writing. Deposits are applied to your order. Payment methods and timing will be confirmed when we accept your order.
Allergen disclaimer
Our treats are prepared in a home kitchen that is not subject to inspection. Our kitchen uses and may process peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, and other allergens. While we try to avoid cross-contact, we cannot guarantee that any product is free of allergens. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, contact us before ordering; you assume responsibility for any reaction if you choose to consume our products after we have disclosed these risks.
Refund & cancellation
Everything we offer is baked fresh and made to order for you. Because of that, we’re not able to accept cancellations once your order has been confirmed—ingredients and baking time are planned around each booking. All payments, including deposits, are non-refundable. If something about your order isn’t right, please get in touch as soon as you can; we’ll always try to help where we can. Nothing here limits rights you may have under Alberta’s consumer protection laws where they apply.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law in Alberta, Soft Bakes by KC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your purchase or use of our products. Our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent allowed by law.
Privacy
We collect only the information we need to communicate about and fulfill your order (for example, name, phone, email). We do not sell your personal information. We may use services (e.g. messaging or payment) that process data under their own policies.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you place your order request applies to that request. If you have questions, contact us before ordering.
